Recovery of a building in ruins, in the historic part of the Castle in Vila Nova de Gaia.
Very sensitive area in the face of ongoing archaeological work, and the findings found there, which have revealed an ancient human permanence. The building is situated in a privileged land, enjoying great views of the historic center of the city of Porto and the mouth of the Douro River. The contemporary architecture that is evident is enhanced with the application of traditional materials such as wood, iron and stone, without neglecting its context with its surroundings. The constructive and aesthetic aspects that have been studied in considerable detail, seeks to introduce a new policy language to the surrounding area which needs to be be properly treated, the level of detail plan of work. The functional program aimed at housing, is distributed over 2 floors: Cave, which has 2 bedrooms, full bathroom and hall. R / c has hall, kitchen, tidy, living room and balcony. The remaining land, is a green area treated with grass and some pre-existing tree species, as well as an annex with technical area, lounge, kitchen and toilet facilities.
