A rooftop filled with lights and shadows
There's nothing better than enjoying the sunshine at home. Comprising of an opened kitchen and a wooden work desk, the rooftop in Sai Kung takes inspiration from the forested surroundings.
Keen to blur the boundaries between indoors and outdoors, the walls were painted in white and sky blue. Wooden elements and earth colours are also used to create the feeling of nature, coherent with the environment around the house.
With abundant natural light, a sliding door is mounted between the passage of the lower floor and the rooftop. When it is opened, the staircase is closed and this allows more air and sunlight to pass through the dining area. Making artful use of the rooftop with two immovable pillars, the designer tailor made the work table fitting with the pillars.
